Leo-Rey is an economist with a passion for world betterment, benevolence and charity. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager, holds a PhD and Masters degrees in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Dr. Gordon is a Fulbright Scholar, President of Kiwanis Club St. Andrew and serves as a Justice of the Peace for community building in Kingston.
Leo-Rey Gordon is Head of Economic and Financial Research at National Commercial Bank Ja., Jamaica's largest bank. In this capacity he evaluates macro-financial conditions to identify potential hazards and opportunities for the business. He is also responsible for creating applicable economic and financial forecasts to assist with enhancing decision making and strategy throughout the organization. Dr. Gordon has published in peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance, The Banking and Finance Review and World Development. Prior to his role at NCBJ, Leo-Rey worked in central banking as Head of the Financial Stability Department at the Bank of Jamaica in which he was responsible for developing policies for mitigating systemic financial risks.
Leo-Rey is also passionate about social responsibility and is a lover of music and sports.
